BECKLEY – Two people are recovering and another still listed in critical condition after a shooting in Beckley Tuesday evening.
Detective Morgan Bragg says the investigation continues in their search for two suspects described as light-skinned black males.
The two men approached a basketball court on the 200 block of Antonio Avenue in east Beckley and opened fire around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. This location is not far from South Fayette Street.
Police say three men were hit in the barrage of bullets, one still in critical condition at a Charleston hospital.
Law enforcement says the situation was dangerous for more than just the victims.
“Due to the fact this was a very populated area at that time, anywhere between 30 and 50 people were in that general area at the time,” says Bragg, “A lot of people were placed in danger, and we'd like to get these people off the street.”
Officials believe they have the suspects on surveillance video from a nearby camera. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (304) 255-STOP.
