OAK HILL – Two women are behind bars after trying to hire a hit-man to take out a relative.

Sarah Jane Swaggerty, 52, Tammy Carol Bair, 39, are housed in Southern Regional Jail tonight on $100,000 bond. The pair faces charges of conspiracy and solicitation to commit murder.

State Police officials say Swaggerty put a contract on her husband's life. Law enforcement officials arranged a sting on Swaggerty over the weekend where an undercover officer agreed to murder Gale Swaggerty for $1,000.

It happened in Fayette County near the community of Layland and Prince.

“We don't have a lot of details,” says Sgt. K.D. Horricks with the State Police, “Everything is still under investigation and we don't have a lot of the details on why she wanted this to happen.”
