SUMMERSVILLE -- The 4th annual Mountain Mama Hospice Regatta hit the water today on Summersville Lake to benefit the Hospice of Southern West Virginia.

Officials say they had a record attendance for sail boaters this year that included more than 40 boaters. Over the last two years, the event has raised more than $11,000. Their goal is to raise $10,000.

Josh Jones, the public relations director, says “as a non-profit organization we server 850 patients in our 4 counties and it's important for us that that money comes to us to help us do the things we do for our patients.”

Over $40,000 was raised in the past 4 years.
