OAK HILL -- A nationwide security breach created quite a stir yesterday, causing locals to panic about the safety of their identity. But officials at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill are providing steps to help reduce the stress associated with the breach. Officials say that clinics, not hospitals were the ones affected and the hospital is providing the necessary steps to those affected.
Derek Cimala, the interim CEO at Plateau Medical Center, says “our company has the belief that they were looking, the thieves, were actually looking for corporate human intelligence really not going after the information they wanted to retrieve.”
A toll-free number, 1-855-205-6951, will begin tomorrow that will provide free identity theft protection for those affected by the breach.
