BECKLEY – A drug store held at knife-point earlier this week has police still searching for clues.

The CVS on Eisenhower Drive was robbed Sunday in broad daylight.

Police say a white male walked into the store and grabbed an employee. While holding a knife to her throat he demanded the pharmacy hand over prescription drugs.

Law enforcement is looking for the man who is about 6-feet tall with a dark mustache. He was seen fleeing from the scene in a tan Chrysler sedan.

“This was a very desperate person,” says Beckley Police Det. Morgan Bragg, “It does appear that he even apologized at some point during this incident.”

Bragg adds the suspect demanded opiate drugs, but a different type was given by the pharmacist.

“One thing that concerns us is that he didn't get the type of medication he requested, so there is a possibility he may go to other lengths to obtain that.”

If you have any information about this suspect or the vehicle used, call Crime Stoppers at (304) 255-STOP.
