Man spends thousands using the identity of his older boyfriend, police say

BECKLEY - A man is behind bars Sunday after authorities say he used another man's identity to apply for several credit cards. 

William Lewis Grose, 38, was arrested for several felony charges including forgery, uttering and fraudulent schemes.

Grose was in a long-time relationship with an older man, whose identity he stole, the Beckley Police Department told WOAY. 

Authorities said Grose spent as much as $5,000 on multiple cards. They were alerted to the alleged crime by an employee at Chase Bank.

Grose was held on $50,000 bond in Southern Regional Jail.
