BECKLEY -- The first annual Woofstock took place today in Beckley to support the Raleigh County Humane Society. Today actually marks the 45th anniversary of the Woodstock festival in New York.

This event included dog races, doggy fashion shows and live entertainment. Officials say that these animals are all about having a great time and rocking on.

Melissa Lyons, a board member for the Raleigh Co. Humane Society, says “we want more people to come to the shelter because people think that this is a sad place, but it's really not it's a place of hope all of our animals are adoptable and we want to showcase them as much as we can.”
