Police in McDowell Co find pot crop

WELCH - Police find a dozen marijuana plants in McDowell County thanks to an anonymous tip.

Sheriff Martin West, with The McDowell County Sheriff's Department says deputies were acting on an anonymous tip in the Bull Creek Area and the Bug Hurley areas of the county.

Deputies found a total of 12 Marijuana plants estimated street value of $12,000. Charges for cultivation of Marijuana are pending.

Money used for the overtime allotted to the Sheriff's Office came from the HIDTA Grant.
