MOUNT HOPE – A man is in custody Tuesday afternoon after police say he broke into a home and fled from police.

Michael Xavier Hudson, 20, is being charged with night-time burglary, obstructing, and fleeing from police.

Lt. Mark Larkin with Mount Hope PD says officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a home on West Virginia Street around 8 p.m. on Monday.

Authorities say they found Hudson hiding one street over behind a building and engaged in a foot pursuit that lasted about 1.5 miles.

Larkin says Hudson resisted arrest and a taser was used to subdue him.

Police say there may be two others who are involved in the crime, and if you have any information you are asked to call the Mount Hope Police Department at (304) 877-6661.
