BECKLEY- Local businesses, churches and community agencies will unite this weekend in Beckley to celebrate a day of hope.
The event will take place at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial soccer complex Saturday from 10 till three. It's the second year of the event. Organizers are hoping for more than 4,000 people in attendance. 20 churches and 25 community organizations are helping out with the planning. One of the organizers says there wasn't much doubt that they would hold the event again.
"This is only our second year and last year was the first time we done it and we had such a tremendous success and we met with our leadership after last year's event, you know, what do you think? Should we go for this again for a second year? And everybody was saying yeah, lets do it again," said Pastor John Jordan.
Organizers will start setting up for the day of hope this Thursday and Friday.
