BECKLEY- Women are joined together in support of breastfeeding Friday in Raleigh County.
Raleigh General Hospital hosted a breastfeeding support program in their education building Friday afternoon. The event was organized as an extension of world breastfeeding week. The week was started to raise support of breastfeeding and to help mothers be able to go out and talk about their issues. The issue was important to a local mom who helped organize the event this afternoon.
"I feel like it's going really good. We've had a great turnout so far. It's going on until 2 pm today so we're hoping for more people, have great prizes to give away so we're hoping a lot of people come in, sign up for our giveaways, get some information and win some cool things," said Rachel Kittle.
Kittle says she hopes breastfeeding becomes more talked about issue in southern West Virginia.
