MCGRAWS – One man is dead, another in critical condition after bullets fly at this home in Wyoming County.

“I arrived on scene, confronted a male subject, told me two of the male subjects had come to the residence where his aunt lived and there was a confrontation that became heated,” says Sgt. Bill Toler of the Wyoming Co. Sheriff’s Dept.

The shooter, James Marshall Green, 37, is facing first-degree murder and attempted murder charges.

“He produced a gun and two male subjects ended up being shot,” adds Toler.

Ernest Cline is dead, and Jesse Graybeal fights for his life in Charleston.

Law enforcement is still investigating what caused the men to get in the fight, and what sent Green over the edge.

McGraw is a small Wyoming Co. community that seems to be riddled with crime – at least that's what neighbors told us, many of whom didn't want to speak on camera for fear of retaliation.

But the few who did say this is a problem becoming more familiar and it's getting closer to home.

Betty Gregorio says she heard the sirens Wednesday night. She lives a half-mile up the road from where it happened.

“I was kind of shocked, but you know, it's becoming quite often now you hear things like that,” says Gregorio, “And you hear people say, ‘Oh, it can't happen in my neighborhood,’ but yeah, it can happen anywhere.”

But it's not just gunfire locals are ducking from.

“Two nights ago I heard somebody at my window - footsteps - and I didn't pay much attention to it,” says Kelsey Tilley.

Now the fear is becoming real.

“It makes me feel really worried, it doesn't really make me want to be here anymore,” Tilley says.

Neighbors may be sleeping with one eye open tonight, because the damage done to this small town isn’t fake.
