BECKLEY -- Representatives from senator Manchin's office made a stop today at a Raleigh county veteran’s facility.

US senator Joe Manchin announced today that his representatives will be making stops to talk to veterans and their families. In a news release from the senator, he says that one of his top priorities is taking care of our veterans by addressing legislation about their employment, benefits, healthcare, and more.  And for some local veterans,  all they want is some peace of mind.

Veteran Calvin Clyde McQuaid says that he “never got any of my veterans rights or benefits, I couldn't get a GI home loan or my GI bill for college, the state of Illinois classified me as a handicap person.”

Senator Manchin's staff will make nearly 20 stops at various veteran-centered locations.
