BECKLEY -- The Sixth Annual Kickin' and Wishin' Kickball Extravaganza to benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation took place today at Paul Cline Sports Complex today.

With eight teams playing and more than 100 people in attendance, the stage was set to play some kickball. Event officials say that without the support of the community, these types of events are possible.

Chris Meadows, the event coordinator of the event, says “everything about this is based on fun the whole reason for the make a wish foundation is for kids to get out and be a kid for a day. They're used to having tests done on them and all that stuff so what they do is they ask for a wish and the make a wish foundation makes it happen.”

The event last year received support from over 30 sponsors and more than 300 people helped grant a local child’s wish.
