PRINCETON – Mercer County schools start in a week, but the county is closing summer vacation out with a bang.
The Mercer County Fair is making its final preparations for opening day. The fair is expecting upwards of 6,000 visitors over the two-day event and there is plenty to keep the crowd entertained.
Of course you get the usual carnival rides and vendors, but with so many surrounding counties not having an annual fair, organizers are welcoming locals from all over to bring their items to display.
“If you grow, sow, cook, or otherwise produce something better than anyone else in the county, you should bring it to the mercer county fair to show it off,” says Vice President of the fair, Keith Circle.
A big draw this year is the national debut of the “Junior Boss Competition.” Contestants will pitch a business plan to a panel of judges and the winner will receive $1,000 toward their idea.
