BLUEFIELD- A West Virginia organization is helping to bring new housing to Mercer County.
Community Action of South Eastern West Virginia (CASE) is responsible for new houses being built on Highland Avenue. They received 1.2 million dollars of a 2.4 million dollar grant from the state for the project. Construction teams have been working on the houses for the past year. With the houses entering their final stages, CASE will be hosting a ribbon cutting on August 1st at 11 am.
"I'm hoping this is kind of an example in which we can, with the dollars we have, their what we can do because the city needs quite a bit more of this. We really do," said Oraetta Hubbard.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will include tours of the new housing development.
