Conference held in Bluefield to discuss new drug prevention techniques

BLUEFIELD- A new tool being used by law enforcement is helping to cut down on meth production across the country.

NPLEx is already being used by authorities in 30 states including West Virginia. The system began in the Mountain State on January 1st, 2013. Since then, pseudoephedrine sales have dropped 35% across the state. Kanawha County has seen the largest decrease in people purchasing pseudoephedrine, seeing a 68.5 percent drop in the last year and a half.
