PINEVILLE- Schools across southern West Virginia are prepping for another school year.
Students in Wyoming County return to class exactly one month from Monday on August 21st. School employees report back on August 18th. One of the reasons they have their start date towards the end of August is so locals can attend the West Virginia State Fair. Two new schools will be having grand openings this year. The new Pineville Elementary will begin its first full school year of hosting classes as will Huff Consolidated School in Hanover. Wyoming County Superintendent Frank Blackwell says they're getting ready for another school year to begin.
"We'll be ready. We of course, constantly working on improvements in our schools during the summer. Whatever needs to be done, any type of maintenance and those types of things. Come August 18th, we'll be ready," said Blackwell.
The dates of the grand opening celebrations for Pineville Elementary and Huff Consolidated School have not been announced yet.
