GLEN JEAN – A nation-wide conservation effort stops in Fayette County today to teach locals about leaving a green footprint.

The Leave No Trace campaign tours across the country providing free education workshops on how to minimize our environmental impact.

Together with the National Park Service, the workshop is focusing on areas that see a lot of traffic in the New River Gorge area. Officials say teaching more people how to be green every day is vital to keep Mother Nature happy and healthy.

“These lands are part of us, they're part of our heritage, as a country they're part of our experience as Americans,” says spokesman Roland Mott, “And without these places there would be nowhere to play, nowhere to grow and to learn.”

If you want to get involved, Leave No Trace will be teaching at their outdoor adventure-fest at the Grandview Visitors Center on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.
