Man behind bars after allegedly making fraudulent transactions

BLUEFIELD, Va. - A man is behind bars after allegedly making fraudulent transactions at self-checkouts in the Bluefield, Virginia area and authorities are looking for other suspects of related crimes at area Walmart stores.

Perish Gambill, 23, faces a felony larceny charge and more charges could be pending.

Bluefield Police said they arrested Gambill July 3 at Walmart, after the store contacted them about the suspect's location. Police said the store had prior surveillance video and vehicle information linking the suspect to other thefts occurring at least in the past few weeks.

Gambill is in Tazewell Regional Jail. Police ask anyone with information on similar incidents in surrounding areas to call Detective Matthew Shrader at 276-326-2621.
