Veterans are riding their bikes this afternoon to celebrate Independence Day.
A large group of former servicemen met at Tamarack to escort the gathering of the Mountain Eagles. The Mountain Eagles are an organization of veterans coping with injuries. A veteran at the event says the CEO of the group is from Oak Hill and enjoys holding the event locally. He says the participating veterans have a fun time during the activities.
"Once a year, he bring these guys and gals to West Virginia and basically wears them out for four days. They go white water rafting, golfing and zip lining and today, we're going to escort them to Lewisburg" said Buddy Palla.
Palla says this is the fifth year of the ride.
