OAK HILL - Holiday travelers trying to leave town this holiday weekend faced a rude awakening Thursday in Fayette County.
A truck pulling a pre-fabricated building was heading south on U.S. Route-19 around 1 p.m. when the driver lost control and overturned past the Pea Ridge exit in Oak Hill. The wreck shut down the southbound lanes.
Police on the scene told Newswatch the driver said he felt the vehicle begin to fishtail just before the accident.
"I've seen trucks turned over in this area actually before, so it's a little bit of a bad stretch of the road here," Oak Hill Police Chief Mike Whisman said.
There were no injuries. Both lanes were reopened to traffic just after 3:30 p.m.
