In order for a PGA tournament to be successful, they need a solid group of volunteers to make sure everything runs smoothly.

the Greenbrier Classic uses more than 1,000 volunteers each time the PGA comes into town. Volunteers helps out in various ways from taking part in food services to helping out the television networks that come into town. Volunteers are trained in advance and come from all over the country to help out at the Greenbrier Classic.

"They have a huge impact. A PGA tour event can not run without the volunteers. On average, every event carries between 1,000 and 2,000 volunteers" said Jim Sweethood

Sweetwood says many of volunteers from across the county are native West Virginian's who look forward to the opportunity to come home.
