BECKLEY - A Beckley man faces felony charges after authorities say he broke into his neighbor's home early Saturday morning and then assaulted the officer responding to the call.

It happened on the 200 block of Allen street in Beckley just after midnight.

Terrance Edward Kade,36, was arrested by the Beckley Police Department for charges including stalking, nighttime burglary, assault on an officer and destruction of property.

Police told WOAY that two women and a small child locked themselves in the back bedroom as Kade kicked his way in to their front door.

Cpl. Jaime Blume found Kade inside the living room holding a blunt object, believed to be a glass bottle. Blume then tased Kade after he allegedly refused to drop the object and came at the officer, according to a report.

Authorities said Kade was intoxicated during the incident.
