MOUNT HOPE - A West Virginia author made a guest appearance on Wednesday, reading her books to children in Fayette County.

Anna Smucker is a West Virginia native who has published 6 children’s books since she became an author 20 years ago. Smucker took the time to read her work to her target audience through the Energy Express Program. In Mount Hope, Smucker read one of her newest stories to the children and asked them to be an interactive audience as she took them page by page. She said the Energy Express program is well run and she enjoyed being involved with it as much as possible.

"I love children's literature. I think it's absolutely the best. I think the best children's literature is for adults too, it’s for everyone,” said Smucker.

The Energy Express Program runs throughout the summer and Smucker said she plans to stop and read at other West Virginia locations.
