After seizing control of the Nicholas County Solid Waste Authority, the state waste management board is holding their first meeting with the new board this afternoon.
The state gave the board 90 days to resolve their problems earlier in the year. After little progress was made and four of the five members resigned, the state decided to take action. Three of the four members at today's meeting are new after filling in three of the four board vacancies. A state official talked before Tuesday's meeting.
"Our mission is to repair the impairments and to get it to be an effective operation again and hopefully in a climate in which the board and the staff can get along" said Mark Holstine
The new board members are hoping they can bring positive changes to the Nicholas County Solid Waste Authority.
