Authorities investigate two armed robberies in Glen Daniel

GLEN DANIEL - Authorities are asking for the public's help following two armed robberies in a Raleigh County Community on Sunday.

Dispatchers told Newswatch there was a report of an armed robbery Sunday around 9:45 p.m. at the Dollar General store in Glen Daniel. 

Earlier that day, the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office responded to an armed robbery at Family Dollar around 10 a.m. For that incident, officials said a man entered the store wearing a gray tee shirt over his face, robbing the clerk at knife point. 

The suspect reportedly left on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff's Department or Crimestoppers.

"It's very scary. It's very scary. I just wonder what people are thinking, what goes through their minds when they're doing things like this. It's crazy" said Debra Rutherford

GLEN DANIEL - Authorities were on the scene of an armed robbery in Glen Daniel late Sunday night.

Deputies with the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office responded to the call at 9:45 p.m. at the Family Dollar on Harper Road.

A male suspect entered the store with a gray T-shirt over his face and robbed the clerk with a knife, according to deputies. He made off on foot with cash and cigarettes.
