BLUEWELL - A Mercer County man is behind bars on $1 million bond Saturday after authorities said he shot his girlfriend during an argument.

Rossley David Garvin, 54, was arrested by State Police for charges including malicious assault, domestic battery, wanton endangerment and unlawful restraint, according to jail officials.

Garvin is accused of shooting his girlfriend through the abdomen with a .45 caliber handgun. Police told Newswatch Garvin came home drunk but said the shooting was an accident.

As of last night, the woman was listed in stable condition at a Charleston hospital. She could not be airlifted due to weather conditions, according to B.R. Wood.
