FAYETTEVILLE – A summer camp in Fayette County is giving kids a leg-up in life outside the classroom.
The “Coda Kidz” program is run out of the Coda Academy in Fayetteville. The five-day camp gets young kids involved with guitar, violin, ukulele, and more.
Some kids are just learning how to play and others have been playing for years.
Ann Ramsey says many of the children at camp move up to more advanced lessons at the Academy down the road. They also say playing music is an important aspect in kid's lives.
“(It) does a lot for a child growing up. It helps their mind in development,” says Ramsey, “There are all kinds of studies out there about how much music affects their educational process.”
The camp concludes with a program on Friday at 6 p.m. It will be held at the Christ Fellowship on Maple Ave. in Fayetteville. Anyone is welcome to attend.
