BECKLEY - Firefighters are gearing up to battle it out against other firemen and women across southern West Virginia.

The showdown will happen Saturday at Tractor Supply in Beckley. It'll be the first of many more hands on events to get the entire family out and about. Kids can expect to meet those men and women in uniform and get an up close look at fire engines. Also, live music along with BBQ will be a few things to enjoy, not to mention firefighters are sure to bring the heat in some crowd pleasing competitions.

"We're going to try and do some firefighter games. Have a buckle gear race where firefighters line up and are timed on how fast they can get their gear on all in a team. Hose races, hose mazes, just different things the firefighters to get involved with and for the crowd to watch," Sean Ritchie - Tractor Supply Co.

4-H and Future Farmers of America will judge the competitions this Saturday June 21st from 12 PM - 5 PM. Fire departments can register their trucks at 11 AM Saturday before the event.
