SUMMERSVILLE – The first hotel of its kind is now open in Nicholas County and ready for the summer heat wave.

La Quinta Inn & Suites is welcoming guests in Summersville now.

The former site of Country Inn & Suites was closed in January and completely overhauled from the ground up. The brand new hotel took on this brand new name to complete the renovation and opened just a few weeks ago.

Spokesperson Neal Hughes says business and tourism in the area deserve a top-notch place at an affordable price, and with the warm-weather tourist season in full swing, La Quinta is ready for business.

“Tourism, as you know, is a big part of what we do here, particularly in Summersville; (the) lake, Boy Scout camp down the road, and of course the bridge,” says Hughes.

Hughes adds he’s looking forward to a big day in Southern West Virginia.

“Bridge day is coming up we're excited that we've finished our renovation.”

La Quinta also has a meeting room for more than 50 people, and it's pet friendly.
