LOCHGELLY - A Fayette County Construction company is facing legal pressure from the Department of Environmental Protection, after pollution from their sites were leaking into local rivers
The hearing of Danny Webb Construction started Thursday in Charleston after the Department of Environmental Protection revoked their underground injection certification back in March. According to a press release, the revoked license noted problems regarding oil and gas wastes found in pits and around the site, specifically Wolfe Creek, which leads into the New River. Critics worried this would affect the drinking water in Fayetteville, but the legitimacy of that is left in question. Officials with the DEP said the hearing began Thursday at 11 at the West Virginia DEP office in Charleston, but officials said it may be weeks before a solution is determined.
