Twenty Crossroads Chevy employees donate blood during drive

BRADLEY - Employees at Crossroads Chevy in Mount Hope are wearing red around their bright red cars Thursday to promote blood donations.

The car dealership hosted the latest blood drive for the American Red Cross, and 20 of its employees donated.

The average donor session takes about 45 minutes, which includes a short physical. Workers with the Red Cross also want to clear a few misconceptions -- recent tattoos don't necessarily rule you out as a donor.

"The blood drive today is just something really neat," Jerry Bibbee told WOAY. "We thought it'd be good for the community. It also became a tradition here. Last year was our first year here, and we had a blood drive, and it was really a great success."

Residents can always head over to for a list of upcoming drives.
