BECKLEY – Educators stop in Raleigh County to teach business leaders how to be more efficient.

Reps from West Virginia University are in Beckley Wednesday afternoon focusing on industrial energy.

Designed for engineers, maintenance personnel, and supervisors, being more energy efficient in today's world is key for long-term success.

Officials say reducing greenhouse gas emissions is important for businesses as small as mom and pop shops and as large as corporations.

“Energy costs are rising, and there's only so much energy fuels available, especially the fossil fuels,” says WVU professor Bhaskaran Gopalakrishnan, “So it makes sense as a society to conserve energy, which is the best way around to address this problem.”

WVU’s workshop tour continues to Charleston on June 25 at Cabela's.
