CHARLESTON - Athletes from around the state are celebrating their victories Sunday -- a day before the 2014 Summer Games come to a close.

This season's Special Olympics began Friday in our capital city. Close to 700 competitors from around the state battled it out in sports like track and field, swimming, golf, tennis and cycling.

The well-known polar plunge is one of the biggest fundraisers to help get the athletes to their year-round competitions.
