The workers at the Humane Society of Raleigh County are finally relaxing after an eventful 24-hours.
Their 24-hour fundraising campaign came to a close Sunday morning at 11. The center raised $879.25, short of their $2,400 goal. Despite falling short on their money goal, the shelter finished above their adoption mark. 29 animals were adopted during the fundraiser with an additional 25 sponsored. The center appreciates the area's involvement.
"The community response has been astounding which it always is. Anytime the shelter has a need, the community meets it" said Suzan Loving.
The shelter also announced they had 15 animal rescues and seven new members join them over the weekend.
