PAX - A local family wants answers as to why a loved one's grave was vandalized this week.
The Whitlow family surround the grave site of Danny Ray Whitlow, Sr., buried in the Pax Community Grave eight years ago when he lost his battle to cancer.
On Sunday his wife and immediate family are reliving that day all over again.
The family told Newswatch they discovered his grave and several others had been dug out, and couldn't understand why anyone would do such a thing.
The Whitlows said Danny was well known and well liked. He worked at the Oak Hill Walmart during his last two years, the family said.
Now they want anyone with information to come forward.
"He was a simple man, a good man, he didn't bother anybody, he'd help anybody out there, and why we've had to go through this now, I don't know," widow Jeanette Whitlow Carver said through tears. "I just want to know who did it, and I want them to pay for it. Just the anguish that I'm going through -- I lived through this eight years ago, and I'm now facing it again, watching his grave be covered."
Whitlow was born and raised in Pax. He was described as a laid-back country boy who loved coffee.
The family proceeded to cover the grave up.
