Beckley police investigate reported armed robbery

BECKLEY - Beckley Police are investigating a reported armed robbery at an area business.

Police told Newswatch they received the call before 3:30 a.m. Friday of the incident at the Little General Store on 4223 Robert C. Byrd Drive. 

Lieutenant David Farley said a thin man around six feet tall wearing a bandana over his face brandished a knife and demanded money from the clerk. An undisclosed amount of money was taken and the suspect ran away on foot. 

Detectives are in the process of interviewing people and obtaining surveillance video. Anyone with information is asked to call the Beckley Police Department at 304-256-1708 or Crime Stoppers at 304-255-STOP.
