Multiple crews battle restaurant fire in North Tazewell, according to Tazewell Co. dispatchers

UPDATE:

NORTH TAZWELL - Officials tell Newswatch Arson is suspected at an overnight fire at a business in Tazwell County.

Dispatchers said a restaurant at 27695 Governor G. C. Peery Highway in North Tazewell caught fire before 10 p.m. Tuesday. Tazewell County Fire and Rescue and Jeffersonville Rescue responded, as well as the fire departments of Tazewell Town, Thompson Valley and Baptist Valley. The Sheriff’s Office, Tazewell Town Police and State Police also responded. All units had cleared the scene by 1:45 a.m. Wednesday. Tazwell County Fire and Rescue Chief said the business was completely lost in the fire. The cause remains under investigation.

First Sergeant Lewis with the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation said his department has been asked to investigate the scene further. Stick with Newswatch for the latest updates.

Dispatchers said a restaurant at 27695 Governor G. C. Peery Highway in North Tazewell caught fire before 10 p.m. Tuesday. Tazewell County Fire and Rescue and Jeffersonville Rescue responded, as well as the fire departments of Tazewell Town, Thompson Valley and Baptist Valley.
