A local hospital is holding a health fair today to help veterans in the area.
The Beckley VA Medical Center hosted their ninth annual health fair on Tuesday. The event had a large turnout to see the 32 presenters in their auditorium. The health fair takes place every May and has been growing in popularity. While it originally started to help veterans, the event is also open to the public. Event organizer Faith Bragg says the fair goes over a wide array of topics.
"We have topics from heart attacks to high cholesterol to diabetes to military sexual trauma. We try to have education on just about any topic you can think about."
The event was considered a success with their expected turnout to be in record numbers.
