BECKLEY - Three people are behind bars after allegedly allowing a child to fire a pistol.

Jack Grimes, 22, and Kristina Greer, 30, both of Beckley, are the parents of the four year-old boy. They and Lindsay Greer, 19, are each charged with felony child neglect. Grimes is also charged with firing a firearm within 500 feet of a residence, possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.

Beckley Police said they found the three suspects and the boy at a wooded area on King Street around 12:30 p.m. Monday. Officers said Grimes was holding a .22 pistol after the boy just pulled the trigger.

The suspects admitted to allowing the boy to shoot, according to officers. The three suspects are in Southern Regional Jail and the child has been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.
