SOPHIA - A Raleigh County business forced to close after a fire will continue to call Sophia its home.
Real Wood Unfinished Furniture held its grand re-opening in Sophia Friday, just one storefront down from its previous location.
The business was shut down for months back in August when a fire tore through apartments above the store. Although Real Wood did not catch fire, much of its merchandise received water damage.
Owner and Manager Janet R. Quesenberry said she made the decision to reopen following a flood of phone calls. Randy Mann talked about choosing to stay in town.
“This store has been down here for approximately 23, 24 years,” Mann said. “It's well known in this area, so therefore we have people coming from other states that come to this area. They know that it was just right next door.”
Real Wood said it has condensed its store since the fire.
