Pre-K teacher's aide allegedly charged for battery on a student

MOUNT HOPE - A teacher's aide at an elementary school in Fayette County is charged for battery on a student following an incident at the school.

Police said Mount Hope Elementary Pre-K Aide Carol Jollay is charged in a criminal complaint with an allegation stemming from November. According to the alleged victim's father, his three year-old son came home with visible signs of abuse. 

Fayette County Schools Superintendent Keith Butcher said the charges were brought to his attention Tuesday. He said the employee is not at the school and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

The incident remains under investigation.

FAYETTEVILLE - A teacher's aide at an elementary school in Fayette County is allegedly charged for battery on a student.

A Mount Hope Elementary Pre-K aide is charged in a criminal complaint that says the allegation stems from an incident that happened in November 2013, according to Superintendent Keith Butcher.

Butcher said the charges were brought to his attention Tuesday. The employee is not at the school and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken, according to Butcher.

School officials are not releasing the name for confidentiality reasons. The incident remains under investigation.
