BECKLEY – Teachers are continually giving to our children, now it's the kid’s turn to give back.

National Teacher Appreciation Week starts today, and schools in Southern West Virginia are doing their part to honor the teachers who always give their all.

The 350 students at Crescent Elementary in Beckley decorated doors to say thanks and wish their teachers well as summer vacation draws closer.

Principal Theresa Lewis says nobody deserves a week like this more than teachers.

“Being a teacher sometimes is the most thankless job in the entire world. But teachers work harder and contribute more out of their pockets than in any other profession.”

Teachers at Crescent will also receive special gifts and lunches to round out this week all about them.
