BECKLEY – Local groups are trying to bridge the gap between supply and demand for fresh produce.
The New River Gorge Regional Development Authority is hosting Farm, Food, and Finance; a class designed to bring local growers together with folks in the community.
Organizers expect more than 30 business leaders and farmers to come together.
The goal, says NRGRDA spokesperson Rachelle Garner, will be making those connections in an effort to increase production and open new markets in Southern West Virginia.
“We're looking to diversify the economy and this is just one way, one more peg in the wheel to strengthen the economy in the communities here in the area.”
If you're interested in taking part, visit the Oak Hill City Council Tuesday at noon. Lunch will be provided.
