April showers bring may flowers.

That's the Raleigh County Humane Society's campaign for the upcoming month. After the month of April saw the center spend much more than normal on animal care, the society is trying to raise money to give its animals the care they deserve. Melissa Lyons discusses the center's goals for the month of may.

"What we're trying to do is turn these April showers into may flowers so we're asking our wonderful community here to donate to our medical account anytime during the month of may. We're hoping to make $30,000 in 30 days. We know that that's kind of a lofty goal but we know our community here in Raleigh county can do that for us."

With each donation made, a flower will be placed in the center's lobby with the person's name on it.
