FAYETTEVILLE - A fundraiser in Fayetteville hopes to make a significant contribution to cancer research after their craft show this weekend.
The Fayette County Cancer Support Team is setting up shop for their craft show on Saturday. All proceeds from the event go to the Relay for Life in hopes that their research team can find a cure for cancer. Organizers said cancer has impacted everyone's life in some way or another, and this is a chance for the community to give back and support this cause. Event coordinator Jane Hardy said cancer does not discriminate which is why healthy people need to help those less fortunate because being diagnosed could happen to anyone.
“It doesn't care how old, how young...skin color, religion, it doesn't care because it will ravage your body. But it's important that we raise as much money as possible to try to get a cure for this nasty disease,” said Hardy.
The Relay for Life craft show fundraiser will be held from 9 - 5 on Saturday at the First Church of God on Harvey St. in Fayetteville. All proceeds go to the Relay for Life and finding a cure for cancer.
