RAINELLE - A sporting festival in Rainelle hopes to draw a crowd throughout May 2,3 & 4 for their contests and special guests.

The second year of the Meadow River Sporting Festival is holding its main event on Saturday. Park Center Sporting Goods is sponsoring the event and giving away prizes to winners of the shooting, archery and corn hole contests. This event kicks off with a parade in the morning and continues throughout the day with food and fun at the festival. Rainelle is proud to announce that their featured performer will be Colton Pack. Store manager of Center Sporting Goods, Jeffery Blackburn, said he hopes people come out to compete and enjoy the festival.

Businesses, of course, get ahold of Andy Pendleton and she can definitely get businesses involved. We just want people to show up. There's food, drinks there's live music!” Blackburn said. Mayor Andy Pendleton said she is grateful for their sponsors; “without their donation this wouldn't be possible and fairs and festivals are part of this going on as it always has and were just looking forward to seeing people from all around coming."

The event kicks off at 10 with guest speaker Natalie Tennant and the start of the parade. Games begin at 12 noon and Colton Pack preforms at 1 PM.
