BECKLEY - Auditions are being held Thursday as Theatre West Virginia prepares to stage its first show since the change of ownership.

Theatre West Virginia invites anyone interested in acting to step into the spotlight and show their stuff. Auditions for the ‘Hatfield’s and McCoy’s’ show are being held Thursday at Tamarack from 4 - 6 PM. Board members said those interested will have to perform a short musical number. The production will be scaled back, but organizers said they are proud to be keeping Theatre West Virginia alive while putting on shows.

"The reason why I wanted to be on the board was because I thought it's very important to save theatre West Virginia and we managed to do that for this year. It's a scaled back production of Hatfield's and McCoy's, running fewer shows but we think that it's important to do that," said board member Stephen New.

The production of the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s is predicted to debut their shows in July.
