BLUEFILED – A Virginia college is hoping to draw prospective students interested in helping others.
Bluefield College in Tazewell will hold a conference for those interested in the human services field.
Officials say the field of study paints a broad stroke, but anyone willing to offer help to others and wanting to do it as a career is encouraged to attend. Workshops and speakers will highlight the day on May 16, but Bluefield Advisor, Brenda Workman hopes they can offer more than advice.
“Our objective is to encourage them on that day. Because we feel like they're working with people all that time, and they probably get discouraged themselves. So it's hopefully going to be an encouraging conference.”
